Lake Diane Ordinances and Regulations

According to Amboy Township ordinances and state of Michigan regulations, Lake Diane is designated as no high-speed boating between the hours of:

LAKE DIANE – R281.730.11 – Hours for high-speed boating and water skiing/in-tow.

11. On the waters of Lake Diane, section 3, 4, 9, 10, and 34, T9S, R3W, Amboy township, Hillsdale county, it is unlawful, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. of the following day to:

  • (a) Operate a vessel at high speed.
  • (b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, kite, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

Rule 3. (1) On the waters of this state where special local watercraft controls have been established prohibiting high-speed boating and water skiing from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. of the following day, the hours shall be 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 a.m. of the following day when and where eastern daylight saving time is in effect.
(2) “Daylight saving time” means the advancing of the standard time by 1 hour, commencing at 2 o’clock antemeridian on the last Sunday of April of each year and ending at 2 o’clock antemeridian on the last Sunday of October of each year in conformity with the federal uniform time act of 1966.
