Get your boats anchored out at Gooneyville at 1:00 pm for a Gooneyville Boat Party.  A plane will flying over and taking pictures.  Gonneyville is the Northern most sandbar in the Northern part of the lake next to where the fireworks were let off.

Many people don’t know why it’s called Gooneyville.  Many years ago a group of us were out anchored around the big rock and shallow area.  Someone said “This gooney is huge!”  We said  ” What’s a gooney?”  The answer was rocks!  It seems the person was from Pennsylvania. and that’s what they call rocks.  Hence – Gooneyville!!
