Let me introduce myself, I am Roger Giallorati, current President of Lake Diane Property Owners Association (LDPOA). As many of you are aware, I have replaced Scott Preston for the remainder of his term. Scott served on the board for many years and we thank him for his service. Due to new work commitments, he has decided to step down from his duties.
Your current Board consists of:
The Lake Diane Golf Outing again went off without a hitch thanks to Ray Neely. The chicken and corn after the golf was enjoyed by all. I know many of us look forward to this event each year – we get full participation. We would also like to thank all the sponsors!
The Annual Corn Roast and Volleyball Tournament was a great success and I wish to thank all the volunteers, especially Larry Weiss that made the event possible. Jim Watt helped cook, Scott Preston supervised Corn Hole, Randy Root kept score in Horseshoes, Tari Sharp donated the trophies and Pat Pitzen managed the Children Games – thanks to all! We are considering moving the event up a week next year to capture more volleyball teams as many are made up of college students who have already returned to school. A special thanks to Kevin Mack as the grounds were in excellent shape.
Additionally, Kevin has made many repairs to swing sets at the two parks. I hope all can see the benefit of our organization as it stays on top of many projects around the lake.
We did a partial weed control spraying to problem areas of the lake. Initially, more areas were slated to be sprayed, however as we waited for permits, many weeds were dying off. This coming spring all shoreline areas will be sprayed of members in good standing (that is LDPOA Members whom are up-to-date on their dues). Our dues are put to work to improve the quality of the lake and I wish to thank all who consistently pay their annual fee. Please… any members holding back on paying back dues - the funds are needed - your money will be carefully spent on improving the quality of the lake! The spring spraying will include areas of lily pads. Scott Banfield of Aquatic Enhancement& Survey, Inc will attend our next meeting at the shelter house on Saturday, September 10th at 10am. Scott was the gentleman who did our last spraying and he will be there to present his recommendations for the spring season. All who are interested are invited to join us.
Currently our By Laws are being reviewed for improvement and updating and hopefully will be available for approval by our next annual meeting. Discussions have begun concerning repairing/improving the fire drafts around the lake. The board has also received prices for dredging and these projects have to remain in our focus for the future and a plan including funding.
Sincerely,
Roger Giallorati
President LDPOA
